My art focuses on colors, feelings and thoughts from my time while living in St Thomas, USVI. The sultry blues, blooming reds, and feelings of softness and relaxation fill my paintings. Often my paintings are now from new places that I have traveled. Often my dreams of places bring back memories for me to paint. My work is abstract in nature and it is more about bringing a feeling to the viewer, rather than an actual representation. As I work with cold wax and oil, the textures created enables one to "touch" the textures of the beauty of the world that surrounds me. Each layer tells a story or a feeling during the process of creation. The final painting is in hope that the viewer can feel a deep message within them from the feelings I felt during the creation of the piece. That interpretation is to be unique for each viewer which is what makes each painting so exciting for me to create!
