It is often said that we look but do not see. Through the artistic possibilities of digital photography and editing, I seek to have those viewing my work "see", perhaps for the first time, aspects of flowers that are present in nature but rarely seen in natural light. By photographing flowers in studio against black backgrounds with LED flashlights as the sole light source, textures, colors and shapes are revealed that otherwise are rarely appreciated. My inspiration is one of exploration to see what a flower might reveal and then to share those discoveries with those that see my work at a show or gallery.
