Come to a Delicious Evening for the Arts

The inaugural An Evening for the Arts promises to be an evening to remember on Sept. 30, 2022 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Merchants Square.

Guests for this ticketed fundraiser on Sept. 30, the eve of An Occasion for the Arts, have the opportunity to shop early and mingle with the artists starting at 5 p.m.

Come hungry and promise you won’t be when you leave. A sampling of the yummy bites in store at the 7 p.m. reception that also includes music from the local band Good Shot Judy:

• From Aromas Coffee House Bakery & Cafe: four sandwich options, Mini Heather Chicken Salad on Croissant among them
• From Baskin-Robbins: Polar Pizzas in a cup. The “crust” will be chocolate chip cookie or double fudge brownie; mint chocolate chip and Oreo cookie take the place of cheese and sprinkles are the topping
• From Sweet Tea & Barley: Braised Beef with Anson Mills Cheddar Grits, selection of three cakes for dessert
• From Rockefeller Room: Duck, Parsnip, Barberries, Hazelnuts
• From Gold Course Clubhouse Grill: Pork and Pickle Sliders, Smoked Chicken Chili

If you haven’t gotten your ticket yet, you can see why you’ll want to. Proceeds from all sales benefit a new Artist-in-Residence program for James City County/Williamsburg schools. This program will bring a practicing artisan into a school for a period of time to work on a specific project approved by the school board and the school which will result in a substantiative public art installation.
