Each year, students from Williamsburg, James City County, and Upper York County schools share their creativity as part of the Student Art Exhibition at An Occasion for the Arts.
This exhibition has become a festival favorite—a vibrant presentation of young artistic voices from across our community. More than 1,500 individual and collaborative works in two- and three-dimensional media are displayed, representing hundreds of classrooms and a wide range of creative approaches.
Art teachers play a central role in shaping the exhibition, bringing it into their classrooms in ways that reflect their own teaching approaches and priorities. Students are encouraged to explore their ideas through imagination, experimentation, and individual expression, with each work reflecting the unique voice of its creator.
The Student Art Exhibition creates a dedicated space within the festival for families, educators, and visitors to experience the remarkable talent of our community’s young artists.
We are deeply grateful to the students who share their work, and to the dedicated art educators whose vision and guidance make this exhibition possible.
