Artist Statement

My artistic journey is a fusion of my background in illustration and my passion for fine arts. I work in traditional media like acrylic and watercolor, my digital vector paintings have become a signature part of my practice. This medium, still relatively new in the art world, allows me to take a tool from my commercial career—the vector illustration program—and use it as a new fine arts medium. The core of my work, regardless of the medium, is the dynamic interplay of movement, color, light, and energy. I begin each piece with a concept, a collection of pencil sketches, and a series of photo references. I don't modify photos; instead, I use a stylus to draw and paint each element individually, often creating pieces with up to 30,000 hand-drawn elements. Vector programs like Illustrator, Corel, and Freehand use mathematical equations rather than pixels, allowing me to create sharp, high-definition images that precisely capture the nuanced strokes of my hand.
