Artist Statement
I have always been inspired and intrigued by ancient and lost art forms. Micro mosaics are something I long admired and eventually found training for, in Ravenna, Italy. Wearable art in miniature, I am creating in the same technique invented by the Vatican in the 1700’s. Murano glass, hand pulled into threads, set vertically to create tiny scenes. Held with a Roman stucco that I make from marble and linseed oil.
