Artist Statement
I spent my early woodturning years making functional kitchen items like pepper grinders and rolling pins. As my woodturning skills grew, I became fascinated by the array of domestic and exotic woods, their colors and patterns, as well as their different physical characteristics. Woodturning became a way to reveal the beauty of these woods, through an expanding repertoire of artistic forms. My favorite pieces today are my layered bowls, which combine a variety of woods to highlight color, pattern, texture, and the hidden beauty of these natural woods.
