Artist Statement
Heavily influenced by early modernist painting movements, my paintings are slowly developed conversations with snapshot images of my mind’s eye. Similar to physical conversations allowed to develop, nuance and facets of the topic reveal themselves during the process, sometimes leading to unexpected or unintended places. This is the essence of painting, to me. The discovery of new, sometimes surprising, conclusions about the world around you, often found in the small details.
