My work, first and foremost, is about what it means to be human; to be unique, irrational, beautiful, flawed, ever changing, perfect in our many imperfections. The uneven shapes and textures in my pieces represent the bumpy human journey and integrate the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi (beauty in imperfection). The addition of gold, pearls or patinas brings balance and light to the wild, organic shapes. I love playing with negative spaces and contrast: my jewelry pieces, like life itself, are multifaceted, and express the individuality of each wearer.
