Artist Statement

My work is inspired by the quiet poetry of Belarusian folk culture, nature, memory, and imagination. Through the traditional art of vycinanka, I explore symbolism, mythology, human emotion, and the connection between people and the natural world. I am fascinated by how a simple sheet of paper can transform into intricate stories and dreamlike images. Alongside traditional ornament, I also create my own фантаasy-inspired worlds and personal visual narratives. My goal is to preserve cultural heritage while giving it a contemporary artistic voice. Recently, my work received an award at the Art on the Square Festival in Williamsburg, Virginia.
