Artist Statement

I am interested in how time unfolds in subtle, often imperceptible ways. Through painting, I explore my surroundings in the moment when the world falls away and the patterns and textures come into focus. Immersed in the details around me, I see the forms of trees as living memories emerging like beacons or symbols of our connection to the natural world, the structure and texture of their forms holding stories shaped by time. My process is a slow, meditative reflection of the detailed natural forms I have encountered, capturing both their shape and the attentive experience of being with them. In my work, the trees become animated, reminiscent forms that reach out to engage the viewer in a shared sense of presence and connection.
