Artist Statement
Iâm inspired by quiet, transitional moments in the landscapeâplaces that invite pause rather than demand attention. Paths, streams, edges of woods, and architectural remnants interest me not for their narrative, but for how light, atmosphere, and space shape the experience of being there. Working in watercolor allows me to respond intuitively to these conditions, letting areas soften, dissolve, or remain unresolved so the viewer can enter the scene rather than simply observe it. Iâm driven by color relationships, subtle shifts in temperature, and the emotional weight of stillness. My goal is not to document a place exactly as it appears, but to convey how it feels to stand within itâcalm, reflective, and quietly present.
